We use the Collected Information to provide the Services described below; for marketing purposes; for product and services enhancement; and to more efficiently and effectively respond to user queries.

In addition to the uses mentioned or described elsewhere in this Privacy Statement or in the Terms of Use, we, and designated third parties may use the Collected Information to analyze and improve the content, features, Services, Website, and Mobile Applications that we make available on the System, as well to conduct certain targeted marketing activities specific to users. We may send you information that you request from us, promotional materials regarding Virginia B. Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic may use various analytics tools and technologies regarding how users interact with the various portions of the System that require storage of web-session data. These tools and technologies are used to assist System users by using cookies and scripts (as described in the “Cookies” section below) to collect and store information—such as how users interact with the System, errors users encounter when using the System, device identifiers, how often users visit certain portions or components of the System, what pages they visit, and what other sites they used prior to using the System. Stored web-session data used by such analytics services or tools are used in accordance with this Privacy Statement.

Additionally, we may post video, photos or other content of individuals who have provided their prior consent. If any individual wishes to remove such videos or other content, they can do so by contacting Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic directly.

Cookies

By placing a small file known as a “cookie” on your computer (or other device by which you may access the System), Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic, and the designated third parties’, servers may passively gather information about you, as a user of the System. The System currently employs two types of cookies. The standard cookie collects information about each user stored on the user’s hard drive (the “Standard Cookie”). The second type of cookie, called a “Session Cookie,” also collects information about each user. Session Cookies are used only while the user is actively connected to the System. Once the user closes the web browser (or is otherwise inactive for more than a certain period of time), these Session Cookies are destroyed. Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic uses both types of cookies on the System. In the future, we may add additional cookies for business purposes.

Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic uses Standard Cookies for several business purposes. Primarily, when users arrive at the System, a unique cookie is automatically stored on each user’s computer (or other device) by his/her Internet browser, which allows analysis software to differentiate between new and returning users.

While a user is active on the System, Session Cookies are used for a variety of business purposes. For example, these cookies allow users to navigate freely through a website once they have logged into a website. Session Cookies also allow us and our third-party providers to collect other technical and navigational information, such as browser type, time spent on the System (or certain portions thereof), and pages visited.

Most popular Internet browser applications will allow you to configure the browser so as not to accept cookies. However, setting your browser to reject cookies may, in certain instances, prevent you from taking full advantage of the System (or some portion thereof) and its capabilities or cause some features of the System to function improperly or more slowly.

Certain portions of the System use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google, in order to better understand your use of our Website (or other portions of the System) and how we can improve the Website and the System. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit a website, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other websites they used prior to coming to such website. Where users have chosen to enable Google to associate their web and app browsing history with their Google account and to use information from their Google account to personalize ads, Google will temporarily join data from its signed-in users together with Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic’s Google Analytics data to build audience lists for cross-device remarketing. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit the System, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to the System is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Statement. Google utilizes the data collected to track and examine the use of the System, to prepare reports on its activities, and to share such reports with other Google services. To more fully understand how Google may use the data it collects on the System, please review “How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps” (located at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites or any successor URL). If you would like additional information regarding the security and privacy practices of Google’s Universal Analytics feature, please review the materials provided by Google.

Re-marketing

Our third-party service providers use pixels that cause cookies, or similar technology, to be stored on your browser when you visit the System. This is necessary for third-party service providers to provide remarketing services. Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic does not presently utilize any remarketing strategies.

In addition to adjusting the settings on your Internet browser as described above, you can opt out of Google’s use of cookies by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.

Log Files

Each view of a page on the System is logged. Information such as the user’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, time of day, and duration of activity on the website is recorded. This information may be used by Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic, or third parties designated by Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic, to analyze trends, administer the System, track users’ movements, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use or for other business purposes.

If illegal activity is detected on the System, Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic, or third parties designated by Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic, may—but have no obligation to—attempt to connect an IP address to User Information. Except as otherwise required by law or regulation, Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic has no obligation to monitor the System, or any portion thereof, for any illegal or improper activity.

Links

For your convenience, the System may contain links to other Internet sites not under Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic‘s control. Please be aware that Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other websites. In addition, should you happen to initiate a transaction on a website that our System links to, even if you reached that site through the System, the information that you submit to complete that transaction becomes subject to the privacy practices of the operator of that linked website. You should read that website’s privacy statement or privacy policy to understand how personal data that is collected about you is used and protected by such third party. We encourage our users to be aware of when they leave the System and to read the privacy statement of each website that collects personal data. This Privacy Statement applies solely to information collected on the System.

Surveys and Promotions

From time to time, Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic requests information from users via surveys. Information requested may include contact information (e.g., name, mailing address) and demographic information (e.g., zip code, age, medical diagnosis). Survey information may be used by Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic for the purpose of improving products or services offered by Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic. Participation in Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic surveys is completely voluntary.

Andes Volunteer Community Clinic through or in connection with the System, you choose what information to supply or submit, whether you wish to receive further information, and how you may be contacted. Please take care to share only such information as is needed or that you believe is appropriate. Note, however, that if you don’t provide certain requested information, we may be unable to provide certain Services to you, you may be unable to take full advantage of the System (or some portion thereof) and its capabilities, or some features of the System may function improperly. Any promotional e-mail we send to you will contain a link that will allow you to opt out of receiving any further correspondence. If you have signed up for our newsletter, you may have the ability to opt out by selecting the appropriate option.
