Saving Lives One Patient at a Time

The Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic relies on the goodwill of volunteers, donors and community supporters to provide primary, semi-urgent health care, wellness and pharmacy services to the uninsured in Charlotte County.

Unlike many other health care organizations, the Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic is funded primarily by private philanthropy, grants from foundations,  our three local hospitals, county government and individual donations. The Clinic does not receive any  insurance reimbursement support.

Your financial support improves the health of both individuals and our Charlotte County community

At the Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic each individual patient is our first priority.  Providing access to health care for those most in need creates benefits for the entire Charlotte County community, including:

  • Our Healthcare System
Services provided by the Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic helps the uninsured avoid emergency room visits and hospital stays, lessening the burden of charity care for local hospitals and lowering the cost of healthcare for everyone.
  • Our Workforce and Schools
Access to medical care keeps the uninsured employees healthier and reduces absenteeism.
  • Our Economy
Healthier people are more likely to find and keep a job, support themselves and their families, and recycle more earnings into the local economy.

Facilitate a Matching Gift

Many companies offer matching gift programs to their employees, directors, employee spouses and retirees. Contact your company’s human resources department for more details or to obtain a matching gift form. Send your matching gift and your gift directly to the Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic and we will complete the process.

2022 Charitable Contributions

Individual taxpayers who do not itemize their deductions are allowed a $300 above-the-line deduction. For those who itemize, the limitation for deductions of cash contributions is increased to 100% of 2022 adjusted gross income (up from the normal 60%). Please see your Tax Advisor for details.

VBA Clinic Circle of Caring Giving logoJoin the Circle of Caring

This has been a year of change for Healthcare in our community. It is no secret that the critical need for medical and pharmacy services for the uninsured continues to grow above and beyond the opportunities available through the Affordable Care Act and current healthcare system.

With your support of $100 a month over the next 12 months, you can make a substantial investment in the clinic and our mission; whereas  the VBA Clinic and Pharmacy can continue to be the access to healthcare for thousands in Charlotte County.

Joining our VBA Circle of Caring and help “spread the light” throughout our community!

The Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic and Pharmacy wants you to know we appreciate every donation – large or small – which supports our mission of caring for the under-served in Charlotte County.

Gifts of Stocks or Bonds

A gift of appreciated securities is an economical way for donors to make a charitable contribution.

Benefits include:

  • Eliminating capital gains on appreciated shares.
  • Charitable income tax deduction for the full fair market value of your shares.
  • Making an immediate impact on the lives of some of our most deserving neighbors.

Make a Gift ‘In Memory’ or ‘In Honor’ of Someone Special

You may honor a loved one or friend by making a gift in their memory or honor. We will notify the honoree, or the family, that you have made this wonderful gesture.

Many people also make charitable donations to the Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic in lieu of purchasing holiday or birthday gifts for family and friends. Simply send a note along with your cash donation telling us who we should contact.

Planned and Legacy Giving

Our Director of Donor Development can work with you to set up gift annuities and planned gifts of any kind. The most common way to make a planned gift is through a Will or a Trust that takes effect after the donor’s death. A bequest results in an estate tax deduction as it reduces the size of the donor’s estate for estate tax purposes. A bequest to the Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic can be for a percentage, dollar amount, or the remainder of a donor’s estate.
