First Alliance Church 6th Annual Race

On Saturday, February 1, the First Alliance Church in Port Charlotte hosted their 6th Annual ‘Run 4 a Reason’ 5K Family Fun Walk/Run.  This year the proceeds from this event benefited the Virginia B. Partnership with Walgreens

VBA wants to thank Walgreens Drug Store for donating Flu shots to our volunteers and patients. Walgreens also donated the time of their Lead Pharmacist Kathy Thomas who is one of VBA's original volunteer Pharmacists.  Pictured with Kathy Thomas is one of our staff members, Jane Sprunk.


Junior Leadership Charlotte Visits VBAVCC

Jan 20, 2014: the 2014 class of Junior Leadership Charlotte toured the Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic. They were amazed at our (semi-) new clinic and pharmacy home, and remarked how wonderful it is that we have grown from our former modular home. Thank you for coming! We look forward to your participation at the VBA Pharmacy and Clinic in a few years!

Pampered Chef and Charlotte State Bank help VBA

Visit any Charlotte State Bank & Trust today to purchase items from The Pampered Chef. WHY?  A portion of all sales will be donated to the Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic!  It’s a great way to get Pampered Chef products and donate to a good cause. The VBA Clinic & Pharmacy provides no-cost, semi-urgent medical services, pharmacy and preventive health programs to the uninsured and underserved in Charlotte County.

Susan G. Komen Grants

Grant from Susan G. Komen Southwest FloridaApril, 2014: The Susan G. Komen Foundation presented the VBA Community Health Clinic with a grant for $64,468 for programs that will provide education, screening, treatment and support to the medically underserved in Charlotte County this year.

In addition, locally, Riverwood Project Detect has also raised $30,000 in funds that were given through the Komen Foundation to the VBA Community Health Clinic for breast health support... ...more
