Virginia B Andes Volunteer community Clinic's United Way Volunteer Spirit Awardee for 2016
Mike Moses Selected to Receive United Way Community Spirit Award
Shortly after The Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic (VBA) opened its doors in 2008, Mike came to the clinic to volunteer his expertise in the medical field. He originally was a snow bird from Maine and about 2 years ago moved to Port Charlotte full time. He became more involved with various volunteer activities and has been working directly with our Cardiologist, Dr. Collado in managing over a hundred and twenty cardiac patients that would otherwise have been unable to see a Heart Specialist! Mike helps extensively with our Smoking Cessation Program, working directly with the doctors and patients to work through the process of quitting smoking; he follows up with each patient making the program a wonderful success. When he is not busy saving lives in our clinic, Mike is working at many of our fundraising & volunteer events as the designated First Aide & Safety Specialist. VBA is proud to have Mike on our team!
