Susan G. Komen Awards Luncheon
On April 12, Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic was awarded a tremendous grant by the "Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Southwest Florida" Foundation. The grant in the amount of $131,578.00 is from April 2012 - March 2013 and will help many needy people of Charlotte County obtain mammograms and diagnostics they never would have been able to receive, otherwise! The awards luncheon was held at the beautiful Bayfront Bistor in Fort Myers Beach.

Third Annual Volunteer Appreciation Picnic
Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic, honored their volunteers at the Third Annual Volunteer Appreciation Picnic this past weekend. Charlotte County Parks & Recreation Services waived the fee for the Bayshore Park Pavilion, and the Band “Low Rent” donated their great musical talents, during the festivities. All the volunteers brought a covered dish and Suzanne Roberts CEO & Dr. Eusebio Gonzales, Clinic Director, cooked Dogs & Burgers.
Everyone had a Great time!
Susan G. Komen Walk for the Cure
Saturday, March 10, volunteers & staff of Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic participated in the Susan G. Komen Walk for the Cure in Estero. It was a gorgeous day and we were walking as "Team Kathy" in honor of one of our awesome volunteers Kathy Grubb. Kathy was a breast cancer survivor but sadly passed away unexpectedly on March 7. The Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic is the recipient of a wonderful Susan G. Komen Grant that enables us to help patients, both men & women receive mammograms and follow up diagnostics...
Bra Dazzle Brunch
The third annual Bra Dazzle Brunch held at the Rotonda Golf and Country Club on February 25 was attended by the "Andes Girls." We had way too much fun, decorating and modeling our very own Bra!!

On Saturday, February 18, Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic helped host the Susan G. Komen Charlotte County Garage Sale. The sale was held on our parking lot in the wee hours. Everyone had a great day and $425.00 was raised for the SGK Foundation.

RECEIVES GULF COAST COMMUNITY FOUNDATION GRANT
Port Charlotte, FL – July 17, 2012 – The Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic (VBA), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization providing free, semi-urgent medical and pharmacy care to the underserved in Charlotte County, has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation.
The grant will be used to fortify the VBA’s modest infrastructure to achieve a dramatic increase in contributed income over a one-year period, and to leverage existing resources to increase capacity and sustainability...
