Office Makeover Dedication
June 24, 2010: Dedication of the new office furniture at Virginia B Andes Volunteer Community Clinic. A reception was held at the Clinic to show appreciation to Wilkins Frohlich P.A. for their generous donation of Kimball Cetra panel office furniture.
When Clinic board member Catherine Douglas, Esq. mentioned to her law firm the need for a better office setup, Cort Wilkins got Steve Bostwick of Commercial Design Services, Inc.to do the measuring and redesign to "make the pieces fit" into the front office at the Clinic. Steve, his son Steve, and other Clinic volunteers then spent their Saturday (and into the wee hours of Sunday) disassembling the office system at the Wilkins Frohlich office and fitting-cutting-assembling the pieces in their new configuration. Kevin McCloud of Office Outfitters, Inc. donated the use of their moving truck. Mike Mansfield, Exec. Director of Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity, took the old furniture to sell at their Punta Gorda store. All in all, the donation of furniture and labor is valued at $25,000 to $30,000!
The dedication ceremony consisted of heartfelt thanks expressed by Clinic Executive Director Suzanne Roberts, moving stories of people whose lives have been impacted by the Clinic told by board of directors President Tom Cappiello and Dr. David Klein. Gifts were given to the donators as well as a plaque unveiled that will hang in the office, thanking Wilkins Frolich for their in-kind support. A beautiful spread of hor d'ouvres was prepared by Clinic Director of Volunteer Services, Noreen Chervinski.
